Nonprofits often focus a lot of time and work on fundraising events. But did you know that 88% of all funds raised come from just 12% of all donors?

If you’re concentrating on special event fundraising, it costs you 50 cents on the dollar (more when you take into account staff salaries and time), and you actually lose money on direct mail donor acquisition.

Rather than just hoping that the right donors come to your signature annual event, your nonprofit organization gets the best ROI when you invest resources into an ongoing, thoughtful effort to cultivate and contact donors.
